I mainly interact with Pokémon TCG as a player. I started with Base Set 2-Player Starter Set back when Pokémon TCG was fresh and new and after falling out of the hobby for a while, returned to it in 2014 when my friends started playing. This Pokédex binder project is my special collection.
I started a binder for the first generation of Pokémon and I'm slowly filling it with my favourite cards for that Pokémon. For many of them, I've started with whatever I had at hand (or could buy cheap) but over time, my goal is to replace every card with a copy that I really enjoy.
This web UI is a 1:1 representation of my physical one with added notes!
There are some cards that are way beyond my budget so I'll never be able to add them to my collection.
While I start with the first generation, I'm expanding to other generations over time, hoping to one day have a collection where I have one of each Pokémon
Different forms, regional variants and Trainer/Owner Pokemon
Currently, I'm keeping later regional variants next to their original ones (for example, Alolan Rattata is after Rattata in Gen 1 instead of Gen 7 when it was introduced). I'm following National Pokédex and trying to collect different forms where possible in TCG.
I am not considering Trainer/Owner Pokemon (like Team Rocket's Arbok) as separate entries. I might use some of them in the dex though to represent the Pokémon itself.
The entire project is hand-crafted. No GenAI slop found here.
